Our History

For decades, the Alexander name has been synonymous with quality in the IT and Security community. Grandfather Gary Alexander began in sales with Sperry (now Unisys) and passed his interest and expertise to his son, Chris Alexander. Along with other family members—Gary, Scott, Thatcher, and Duncan—Chris was an owner of Alexander Open Systems (AOS), a leading value-added reseller (VAR). AOS combined keen IT expertise with exceptional customer service and, after 25 years expanding the business throughout the Midwest and nationally, the Alexanders sold that business and Chris passed the torch to his son.

After ten years as an IT sales executive, Matt Alexander now carries on the family tradition by founding ACS. Unlike other firms, however, Matt’s mission is to carry on the family legacy, coupling world-class cybersecurity expertise with a passion for meeting client business needs—focusing not only on protection, but on helping clients build and sustain revenue streams. Chris now leads the ACS board of directors while Matt serves as CEO. They are joined by experts across the cybersecurity spectrum, ensuring ACS clients receive leading edge intelligence and execution.

Leadership

Matt Alexander, CEO

Matt is the founder and chief executive officer of Alexander Cybersecurity Solutions (ACS). His background includes sales roles at a variety of IT companies, with his most recent position as Regional Account Executive for [redacted], a cybersecurity firm. Following his family’s tradition of entrepreneurship, Matt founded ACS with the belief that every company, regardless of size, needs and merits top quality cybersecurity protection. “Being a small to midsize business (SMB) doesn’t reduce your risk,” he notes. “It just reduces your ability to pay for protection. At ACS, we intend to mitigate that challenge and provide the protection and business partnership SMBs need and deserve.”

Chris Alexander, Board of Directors, Tech Entrepreneur and Philanthropist

Former co-owner of Alexander Open Systems (AOS), a leading value-added reseller (VAR) and systems integrator (SI), Chris now leads the ACS board of directors. Chris began his technology journey at ComputerLand in Iowa, Centel Cellular, and then Southwestern Bell. Over 25 years, AOS grew to $220M with over 400 employees. Specializing in a variety of technology disciplines (including IT security), the company owned and operated a data center with a security operations center (SOC). Chris now devotes his time to active philanthropy, advising business owners on how they can use their businesses for good—to improve the lives of society’s most vulnerable. Current projects include rescuing people from sex trafficking and working with refugees and the marginalized in the inner city and rural communities around Kansas City. Chris and his mentee businesses focus on work in Kansas City, the Middle East, Thailand, Dominican Republic, India, and Nepal.

Julie Enlow, CFO

Julie began her career in Houston, Texas, where she attended North Harris College. She then moved home to Kansas and served in financial leadership roles before spending 16 years with Alexander Open Systems, first as its Controller for 9 years and ending her corporate career as its CFO. “I tried retiring…and that lasted about four months,” she notes. Before assuming the CFO role with ACS, she launched an accounting firm, consulting with and performing monthly accounting functions for small businesses.

Julie has been married 41 years to husband Chris; the couple have two married sons and two grandchildren. Julie is a frequent volunteer for Friend of the Johnson County Library, an avid sports fan who loves the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of Kansas Jayhawks.

Our Unique Approach

Alexander Cybersecurity Solutions (ACS) delivers a robust array of services and solutions, empowering organizations to elevate their security practices, safeguard their digital assets against ever-changing threats, and meet regulatory compliance mandates.

We recognize, however, that small to midsize organizations often face a significant gap between the reliable security solutions they need and the pricing they can afford. At ACS, we aim to close that gap.

But we also understand you don’t only need cost-effective cybersecurity solutions—you’re looking for sustainable business growth. ACS goes beyond the typical cyber defense approach and considers your entire business landscape, tailoring our services to meet your broader needs—and budget. We deliver not only world-class IT professional skill but the strategic business insights that contribute to your overall success.
